In 2013 the Alton Society planted six more trees – one in The Public Gardens and five in Anstey Park, to add to the ones we planted to mark our anniversary year 2010. We also replaced the one failure (on Drayman’s Way).
The local tree advisers part-financed this scheme with the proceeds of their calendar sales. We hope it will be a legacy which will beautify the town for years to come.
In addition Alton Local Food Initiative has planted five fruit trees at Jubilee Playing Fields.
